Late Broadway star Marin Mazzie will receive a special Tony Award for her outstanding contributions to the theater and community.

Three-time Tony nominee Mazzie died in September 2018 after a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2015. Over the course of her illness, Mazzie made the decision to speak publicly about her battle and dedicate herself to supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, the Actors Fund's Phyllis Newman's Women's Health Initiative, and Cancer Support Community, among other organizations. This Special Tony Award honors her legacy of leadership and celebrates her unwavering strength.

Special Tony Awards will also be presented to musical director and arranger Jason Michael Webb, for his outstanding arrangements for Choir Boy at Manhattan Theatre Club, as well as to Sonny Tilders and Creature Technology Company, the creators of Kong for King Kong on Broadway.
