The U.K. tour of Calendar Girls has announced updated casting, with the seventh leg of the tour scheduled to open at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow, with that engagement running August 30-September 3.
The stage play by Tim Firth is adapted from the screenplay he wrote for the 2003 film, with the production directed by Jack Ryder. It tells the story of a group of ordinary women who do something extraordinary and spark a global phenomenon when they persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference!
The cast will star Lynda Bellingham as Chris – Miss October, Debbie Chazen as Ruth – Miss November, Camilla Dallerup as Elaine, Jennifer Ellison as Cora – Miss July, Jan Harvey as Annie – Miss February, Rula Lenska as Celia – Miss September, June Watson as Jessie – Miss January, Ruth Madoc as Miss March, with Bruno Langley as photographer Lawrence and Joe McGann as John.
The production features a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Tim Lutkin, costumes by Jack Galloway and music by Steve Parry.
