The League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers has announced that the 18th annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway will be presented on Monday, May 5 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with a gala reception to follow.
The cut-off for award eligibility will be March 31, and the nominations will be announced on April 2. For the first time in the history of the awards, the recipients will not be announced until the evening of the event. The 2003 nominating/voting committee includes representatives of the Off-Broadway League, the Lucille Lortel Foundation, Actors’ Equity Association, and the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers, along with journalists, educators, and other artistic contributors to Off-Broadway.
