Playwrights Octavio Solis, Marcus Gardley, and Liz Duffy Adams are set to join French playwrights Samuel Gallet, Marion Aubert, and Nathalie Fillion for Des Voix Festival of new works, May 25-27 at Z Space.
The festival will kick off with a Bal Littéraire presented in association with Litquake, a unique hybrid performance/club event created in 48 hours the week of performance by all six writers and inspired by six songs of their choosing.
The festival will continue with readings of Communiqué No.10 (May 26 at 4pm) by Samuel Gallet, translated by Rob Melrose and Pride, Pursuit, and Decapitation (May 26 at 8 pm) by Marion Aubert, translated by Erik Butler and Kimberly Jannarone. Laurent Muhleisen from the Maison Antoine Vitez in Paris and Judith Miller from NYU will be present for a Colloquium on International Playwriting and Translation (May 27 at 11 am and 1 pm). Then, there will be a reading of Out There (May 27 at 5 pm) by Nathalie Fillion, translated by Emily-Jane Cohen and Michelle Haner.
