Showtime will develop the upcoming series adaptation of Patrick Rothfuss's The Kingkiller Chronicle trilogy, executive-produced by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Miranda will also compose music for the series, which will have John Rogers serving as showrunner. Produced by Lionsgate, The Kingkiller Chronicle will be executive-produced by Rogers, Miranda, Rothfuss, Robert Lawrence, and Jennifer Court.

The Kingkiller Chronicle follows Kvothe, a wizard who lives through a disastrous childhood and becomes a household name. The television series will be set before the events of the first novel, The Name in the Wind.
