The students and teaching artists of the Waterwell Summer Theater Lab offered a preview of the new musical Hamelin on Friday, August 2. The program offers high school students three weeks of training in live theater through ensemble work and collaboration with world-renowned teaching artists. On hand for the event was Hamelin creator Otis Sallid (Smokey Joe’s Cafe), as well as Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), and Summer Theater Lab director Victor Maog.
