Kirsten Kelly will direct Roots&Branches Theater’s original play Crash!, written by Brian Farish and developed with the company. The piece will play at Interart Theatre Annex, November 17-22.
The play interweaves memories of the Great Depression with the present recession. Founded in 1990 by Arthur Strimling, Roots&Branches develops intergenerational theater workshops, productions and other arts projects.
The cast will include Shelley Cavalier, Alexandra Cohen-Spiegler, Brian Farish, Esther Horne, Julie Kline, Michaela Lobel, Muriel Mervis, Yvette Pollack, Julie Rapoport, Marcy Ried, Thelma Ruffin Thomas, and Lucas VanEngen. Set design will be by Eugenia Furneaux-Arends.
Kelly directed Slipping at Rattlestick Theater earlier this year, and her other credits include Theater Alliance’s Boy Gets Girl, for which she received a Helen Hayes Award nomination.
