Justin Sayre to Publish Cabaret Series The gAyBCs as New Book

Performer Justin Sayre has inked a deal to turn his five-part cabaret series The gAyBCs: A Brief History of Gay Culture into a new book. Chronicle Books will release the illustrated compendium of gay and queer culture, with a date to be announced.

The first installment of Sayre's similarly titled cabaret series was presented at Joe's Pub in February, and will present the next edition at Joe's Pub June 2 and 3.

Sayre is a writer and performer best known for his downtown variety show The Meeting*. He worked as a staff writer on 2 Broke Girls and appeared opposite Lisa Kudrow on The Comeback. He is the author of the books Husky and Pretty, as well as Mean, which is slated for release this year.
