Two-time Tony Award winner John Lithgow will star in the fourth season of Showtime’s Dexter, according to TVGuide.com.
He will reportedly play Walter Simmons, aka the “Trinity Killer.” The show also stars Michael C. Hall as the title character, Dexter Morgan, who becomes infatuated with the Trinity Killer’s methods, and Keith Carradine as FBI Special Agent Frank Lundy, who is in pursuit of Simmons. TVGuide.com reports that Lithgow will appear in all 12 episodes of the season, which premieres on September 27.
Lithgow recently starred Off-Broadway in Stories from the Heart and on Broadway in All My Sons. He won Tony Awards for The Sweet Smell of Success and The Changing Room. He was also Tony-nominated for his performances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, M. Butterfly, and Requiem for a Heavyweight. Lithgow is well known for his starring role in the TV series Third Rock from the Sun, for which he received three Emmys, a Golden Globe, two SAG awards, and The American Comedy Award.
