Jannie Jones and Jessica Wortham will star in Ensemble Theatre Company’s presentation of Frank Higgins’ Black Pearl Sings!, to run June 14-July 1 at the Alhecama Theatre.
Directed by Patrick Mullins, the 1935-set piece examines the friendship between Susannah (Wortham), a Library of Congress song collector, and Pearl (Jones), an African American woman serving a life sentence in a Texas prison.
