Ghee has been battling kidney disease since 2022.

Tony winner J. Harrison Ghee will take a medical hiatus from the national tour of Oh, Mary!
As previously reported, Ghee has been managing kidney disease since 2022 and is on the transplant waiting list. Owing to a recent change in their kidney function, Ghee’s doctors have advised that they step away from the production to focus on treatment.
Update, October 16: Ghee has made the decision to depart the production altogether to deal with their current health challenges.
“I’m so grateful to the producers and the entire company of Oh, Mary! for the extraordinary support, care, and understanding they’ve shown me during this time,” Ghee said in a previous statement. “Stepping away isn’t easy, but I know I’m doing it surrounded by people who genuinely support me, and that means more than I can say.”
The role of Mary’s Husband is being played by Tony nominee John-Andrew Morrison.
