Irish Rep will present a 20th Anniversary production of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa, on the theater’s Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage, October 19-December 11, with an opening set for October 30. Charlotte Moore will direct.
Winner of the 1992 Tony Award for Best Play, the work summons back the memories of the end of the summer of 1936 on the eve of the celebration of the Harvest God, Lugh. It centers around the five unmarried Mundy sisters who live in a modest Irish cottage in Donegal.
Cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.
