The best of Broadway gives back to help youngsters in need.
The third annual Covenant House Sleep Out: Broadway Edition was held on Monday, August 17. Dozens of Broadway veterans took part in the event, sleeping on the streets outside the Covenant House Crisis Shelter on West 41st Street and 10th Avenue in solidarity with the hundreds of homeless young people living inside. All in all, the evening raised more than $265,000 to provide food, clothing, shelter, and hope for youth in need.
For the third year in a row, TheaterMania enlisted annual participants and real-life besties Rachel Sussman (a producer and cofounder of the new Michigan-based MITTEN Lab) and Rachel Brosnahan (a 2015 Emmy nominee for her work as Rachel Posner on Netflix's House of Cards) to document the evening. Not even a torrential rainstorm could cease their enthusiasm for the organization.
You can find their photo diary of the evening in the gallery below.
Donations to the Covenant House Broadway Sleep Out continue through the end of September. Click here for more information on Sussman and Brosnahan's group, Team Cov Love.
