Hogan, Kennedy, Maxwell, Morfogen Set for Mint’s The Madras House

Jonathan Hogan, Laurie Kennedy, Roberta Maxwell, and George Morfogen will star in the Mint Theater Company’s revival of Harley Granville Barker’s The Madras House, January 31-March 11. The production will be directed by Gus Kaikkonen.

The play, last seen in New York in 1921, focuses on Philip Madras, the heir to a leading London fashion emporium established by his father Constantine, who abandoned his family and established a polygamous household in Iraq. Constantine then returns to England to sell the family business. Granville Barker is best known as the author of The Voysey Inheritance and Waste.

The show’s creative team includes Charles Morgan (sets), Clint Ramos (costumes), and William Armstrong (lighting). Kaikkonen has worked extensively with the Peterborough Players in New Hampshire, among other companies.

Hogan received a Tony Award nomination for As Is. Kennedy received a Tony nomination for Man and Superman and recently appeared in Dallas as Big Mama in Cat on a Hot Tim Roof. Maxwell’s many stage credits include Richard III, The Persians, and The Carpetbagger’s Children. Morfogen appeared last season in Theatre for a New Audience’s production of All’s Well That Ends Well and is best known for his role as Rebadow on HBO’s Oz.
