Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning musical comes to the Richard Rodgers Theatre after a run downtown at the Public.
School is back in session for Lin-Manuel Miranda's Drama Desk-, Outer Critics Circle-, and Lucille Lortel Award-winning musical Hamilton. The production began rehearsals for its upcoming Broadway run on June 18 at the New 42nd Street Studios. Directed by Thomas Kail, Hamilton begins performances Richard Rodgers Theatre on July 13, with opening night set for August 6. It originated earlier this year in a sold-out run at the Public Theater.
Leading the company, in his Lucille Lortel Award-winning performance, is Miranda as Hamilton, alongside Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr), Drama Desk Award winner Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton), Daveed Diggs (Marquis De Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens, Phillip Hamilton), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan, James Madison), and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Shuyler, Maria Reynolds). Javier Muñoz will serve as the Alexander Hamilton alternate.

Inspired by Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, Hamilton explores the life of the American founding father and first Secretary of the Treasury, as well as his experiences as an orphan of the British West Indies who immigrated to the 13 Colonies and helped shape the United States of America.
Hamilton features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler.
