The legendary stage actors bring Trevor Nunn’s acclaimed production to New York City this winter.
Michael Gambon (Harry Potter) and Eileen Atkins (Doubt) will bring their acclaimed performances in Samuel Beckett’s radio play All That Fall to 59E59 Theaters Off-Broadway this November. Directed by Trevor Nunn, the New York City engagement which will run November 5-December 8, follows two sold-out engagements at London’s Jermyn Street Theatre and Arts Theatre.
Commissioned by the BBC as a radio play, All That Fall was first broadcast in 1957. Set in Ireland, the work follows the aged Mrs. Rooney as she travels to meet her blind, ill-tempered husband at the train. Along the way, she encounters a variety of eclectic characters played by Ruairi Conaghan, Frank Grimes, Trevor Cooper, Billy Carter, James Hayes, and Catherine Cusack.
The design team includes Cherry Truluck (scenic and costume design), Phil Hewitt (lighting design), and Paul Groothuis (sound design). The associate director is Anthony Biggs.
