George Salazar, Joe Iconis, and More to Celebrate Be More Chill Vinyl Release

The original cast recording is now available to purchase.

Ghostlight Records and Two River Theater have announced a celebration of the vinyl edition of the Be More Chill original cast recording at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street) on Thursday, December 6, at 7pm. Gerard Canonico, Katlyn Carlson, Stephanie Hsu, Lauren Marcus, and George Salazar — all featured on the 2015 Two River Theater cast recording — will join composer and lyricist Joe Iconis at the event, in which they will perform musical selections and sign albums. Check out both the trailer for the vinyl release and a video of Salazar and Iconis unboxing the new LP package below.

Following a sold-out run this summer at the Pershing Square Signature Center, Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz's Be More Chill will move to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre in early 2019. Previews are scheduled to begin February 13, with opening night set for March 10. Inspired by the novel by Ned Vizzini, the stage adaptation is directed by Stephen Brackett, with choreography by Chase Brock.

Be More Chill features music and lyrics by Iconis and a book by Tracz. The story is described as follows: "Jeremy Heere is your average, nothing-special teenager at Middleborough High in nothing-special New Jersey…until the day he finds out about 'The Squip.' Thus begins a journey that pits Jeremy's desire to be popular against his struggle to remain true to his authentic self."
