Full casting has been announced for the Boston Art Theatre’s world premiere adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, to be presented at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Black Box Theater, January 8-24. Robert Kropf, who penned the adaptation, will direct.
Set on the Serebriakov farm, Uncle Vanya (Finita La Comedia) is a tale of obsessive love, relentless regret and the stranglehold of class.
In addition to Kropf, who plays the role of Astrov, the production features Justin Campbell as Vanya, Stacy Fischer as Yelena, Mark Del Castillo-Morante as the Professor, and Kristin Potter as Sonya. The creative team will include Victoria S Coady (stage manager), Karim Badwan (lighting design), and Ryan Anderson (sound design).
