Full cast and creative team have been announced for the U.S. premiere of Swedish playwright Lars Norén’s War, to be presented by Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, in collaboration with RiksDrama, January 31-March 2, with an opening set for February 11.
The play takes place during a year of ethnic cleansing, when a mother and her two daughters struggle only to survive.
Anders Cato will direct, replacing the previously announced Norén in this capacity. The cast will include Ngozi Anyanwu, Rosalyn Coleman, Flora Diaz, Laith Nakli, and Alok Tewari. The creative team will include Van Santvoord (sets), Meghan Healey (costumes), Ed McCarthy (lights), and Eric Shim (sound).
Norén is the author of more than 70 plays and is considered to be one of Europe’s most produced living playwrights. Cato previously directed the Rattlestick production of Miss Julie, and has directed numerous works at theaters throughout the U.S. and Europe.
