Full casting has been announced for Melinda Lopez’s Gary, to be directed by M. Bevin O’Gara at Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, February 28-March 16, with an opening set for March 1.
The play, which features music by Chicago-area artist Rick Sims, is about three seemingly typical teenagers, playing video games and taking their frustrations out on their guitars and keyboards.
The cast will include Adrianne Krstansky, Elise Manning, Nael Nacer, Karl Baker Olson, and Molly Schreiber.
Lopez’ previous play, Sonia Flew, won the Elliot Norton Award for “Best New Play” and the IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) for “Best Play” and “Best Production.” Her other plays include Alexandros, God Smells Like a Roast Pig, and The Order of Things. O’Gara’s directing credits include insideshow, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and If You Can’t Take the Heat.
