Flashback Friday: Josh Groban and Fiddler Are Both Coming to Broadway, But Not Like This

Josh Groban is coming to Broadway as Pierre in Dave Malloy's Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, and it seems like a perfect fit. But after watching this clip we discovered last year, we're beginning to think it wouldn't even matter if it weren't. Eigteen-year-old Groban was objectively a pretty terrible fit for Fiddler on the Roof's endearingly jaded Tevye when he played the role in high school in 1999. But his performance was still amazing.

Fortunately, a new revival of Fiddler opens on Broadway this Sunday with a much more appropriate — but equally amazing — actor in the lead role: Broadway favorite Danny Burstein. Watch Groban's rendition of "If I Were a Rich Man" to prep for Burstein's Broadway performance.
