Panic! At the Disco rocker Brendon Urie recently made his Broadway debut with the cast of Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Urie succeeds Killian Donnelly in the role of Charlie Price in the Tony-winning musical for a limited engagement through August 6.
Urie is the frontman of the Grammy-nominated rock band, Panic! At the Disco. The band's fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, with their single "Victorious" debuting at No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs, iTunes Alternative Songs, and Billboard Twitter's Trending 140 charts.
Inspired by the 2005 British film of the same title, Kinky Boots features a Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein, with direction by Jerry Mitchell. The musical tells the story of Charlie Price, the owner of a failing shoe factory who realizes that a sassy drag queen named Lola has the key to the business's success.
The current Broadway cast also features J.
