On Wednesday, September 14, the Broadway company of An American in Paris welcomed a special guest to the Palace Theatre: Savvy Shields, 2017's Miss America. Following the performance, Shields went backstage to say hello to the company, which featured, at that performance, leading man Dimitri Kleioris as Jerry Mulligan and production ensemble member Shannon Rugani making her debut as Lise Dassin.

Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, An American in Paris is inspired by the Academy Award-winning film. The four-time Tony-winning musical features music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin and a book by Craig Lucas.

The company also includes Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Matthew Scott as Adam Hochberg, and Max von Essen as Henri Baurel. The production runs on Broadway through October 9 and launches its national tour shortly after.
