Ethan Slater and Betsy Wolfe to Star in Little Shop of Horrors

Ethan Slater and Betsy Wolfe will join the cast of the off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors at the Westside Theatre beginning Tuesday, July 21. Slater will take over the role of Seymour, and Wolfe will play Audrey.

The musical’s current Seymour and Audrey, Jordan Fisher (Hadestown) and Tony Award winner Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon), will play their final performances on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Slater recently appeared as Boq in the film adaptations of Wicked. This past season, he co-wrote and starred in Marcel on the Train at Classic Stage Company. Wolfe is currently starring as Madeline Ashton in Death Becomes Her, which ends its Broadway run this weekend.

With Music by Alan Menken and a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman (the team behind The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast), Little Shop of Horrors is the Faustian tale of a florist’s assistant who discovers a strange and unusual plant that feasts on human blood. It also garners him unprecedented acclaim and attention. But just how far will he go to impress the woman he loves?

This off-Broadway revival directed by Michael Mayer opened in 2019. TheaterMania’s review hails it as “the best musical off-Broadway.”

In addition of Fisher and James, the current cast of Little Shop features Claybourne Elder (HBO’s The Gilded Age) as Dr. Orin Scrivello D.D.S., Tony nominee Reg Rogers (Merrily We Roll Along) as Mushnik, Christian McQueen as The Voice of Audrey II, Christine Wanda as Ronnette, Savannah Lee Birdsong as Crystal, and Morgan Ashley Bryant as Chiffon. The cast also includes Teddy Yudain, Weston Chandler Long, Mecca Hicks, Jeff Sears, Aveena Sawyer, Christopher Swan, Alloria Frayser, Chani Maisonet, Johnny Newcomb, Jon Hoche, Jonothon Lyons, and Noel MacNeal.
