Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss will play Karen in the Broadway revival of David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow, which will begin performances at the Belasco Theatre beginning October 3, and will open on October 26.

As previously announced, Raul Esparza will play Charlie Fox and Jeremy Piven will play Bobby Gould and the production will be directed by Neil Pepe, the artistic director of the Atlantic Theatre Company. Sets will be by Scott Pask and costumes by Laura Bauer.

In the play, Hollywood producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox engage in a verbal boxing match about the eternal debate of art versus money. Should Gould go for another bad blockbuster that will make his fortune or put himself on the line for an adaptation of a spiritual, apocalyptic novel offered to him by his beautiful secretary Karen.

Esparza has received Tony Award nominations for his work in The Homecoming, Company, and Taboo. His other stage credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Rocky Horror Show, Comedians, and Sunday in the Park With George.

Piven last appeared on the New York stage in Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig, and is best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on HBO’s Entourage. Moss plays the role of Peggy Olson on the AMC series and previously starred on NBC’s The West Wing.
