David Arkema, Steven Hauck, Edena Hines Set for Penguin Rep’s Shipwrecked!

David Arkema, Steven Hauck, and Edena Hines will star in Penguin Rep Theatre’s production of Donald Margulies’ Shipwrecked! An Entertainment: The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (as told by himself), to play Penguin’s intimate, 108-seat theatre in Stony Point, New York, August 12-September 4. Thomas Caruso will direct.

The play is based on the true story of Louise de Rougemont (played by Hauck) who experienced an adventure to end all adventures, encountering wild weather, wacky characters, a giant octopus and tribe of aborigines after he set sail from London to see the world. Upon his return, Louis mesmerized Victorian England – and the world – with his incredible tale of being stranded on an island for 30 years.

The production will include designers Patricia E. Doherty (costumes), Sarah Lambert (set), Patrick Metzger (sound), and Cory Pattak (lighting).

Hauck appeared on Broadway in Irena’s Vow, and recently performed Off Broadway in One Arm directed by Moisés Kaufman at the New Group.
