David Amram, Penny Arcade, Lavinia Co-op, Joe Franklin, Mariana Bekerman Dance Company, and The New York Theatre Workshop will be among the participants in the 15th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, a free-of-charge three-day festival at Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue), to be held Memorial Day Weekend, Masy 28-30.

The festival will bring together a multitude of performing artists — actors, dancers, singers, painters, sculptors, playwrights, performance artists, poets, etc. — all of whom reside, work or have their roots in the culturally diverse, artistically rich Lower East Side.

Among the writers represented in the festival are Eduardo Machado, Lissa Moira, Larry Myers, Barbara Kahn, Bina Sharif, and Matt Morillo. Additionally, this year the festival will feature excerpts from seven world-premiere plays — written under the umbrella of Theater for the New City’s new Play Development Workshop, The Chrysalis, created by Lissa Moira under the auspices of Crystal Field.

The complete lineup and schedule will be posted online at www.theaterforthenewcity.net.
