The Walnut Street Theatre has announced casting for Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart’s The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!), to run May 2 – June 27 in the Independence Studio on 3. Craig Fols will direct and appear in the production, which will feature choreography by Dax Valdes and musical direction and accompaniment by Alex Bechtel.
The show is a comic satire of musical theatre genres, in which one story becomes five musicals, each in the distinctive style of a different master of the form, from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Stephen Sondheim. The company features Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Willy), Sarah Gliko (June), and Rebecca Robbins (Abby), as well as Fols (Jitter) and Bechtel.
The creative team includes Robert Kramer (scenic design), Mary Folino (costume design), J. Dominic Chacon (lighting design), and Christopher Colucci (sound design).
