Condola Rashad to Host Manhattan Theatre Club's 2018 Spring Gala

The event will also feature performances by ”The Band’s Visit”, ”Frozen”, ”Mean Girls”, and more Broadway musicals.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that its annual spring gala will take place on Monday, May 14, at Cipriani 42nd Street. Condola Rashad, who is currently starring in MTC's production of Saint Joan, will host, and the event will feature performances by the Broadway musicals The Band's Visit, Escape to Margaritaville, Frozen, Mean Girls, Once on This Island, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.

Richard Maltby Jr. will direct the evening, and the creative team will include Jason Lyons (lighting design), Leon Rothenberg (sound design), and Justin Hornback (music direction).

The gala will begin with cocktails at 7pm, followed by dinner and the gala performance beginning at approximately 9:15pm. All proceeds from this annual event will support MTC's mission as a leading nonprofit theater company developing and producing contemporary plays on and off Broadway, as well as its renowned education program, which deepens students' understanding of themselves and the world through the medium of theater.
