Junkyard Dog Productions, in conjunction with Hachette Books, has announced the release of Come From Away: Welcome to the Rock, a fully illustrated companion volume to the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Come From Away. The volume will feature the book and lyrics for the first time in print and a foreword by Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Come From Away: Welcome to the Rock is available now for preorder and officially goes on sale August 13. In addition to the complete book and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the book will boast exclusive cut material. With a complete narrative of the events in Gander during that week and beyond written by theater historian Laurence Maslon, the journey of the musical's development is traced from the backdrop of one of the darkest days in American history to the 10-year reunion of Gander residents and airline passengers, which sparked the show's creation.

Set against the backdrop of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Come From Away follows what happens when 38 planes and 6,579 passengers are forced to land in Gander, doubling the population of "one small town on the edge of the world." It was nominated for seven 2017 Tony Awards, winning one for Christopher Ashley's direction.
