Chris Botti, Stockard Channing, Sting, Trudie Styler at Opening of Culture Project’s Exonerated

On Wednesday, September 19, Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen’s play The Exonerated opened at the Culture Project, where it is set to run through November 4 with Bob Balaban at the helm.

Opening night guests included exoneree Sunny Jacobs, who joined star Stockard Channing on-stage after the show, as well as Sting, actress Trudie Styler, trumpeter Chris Botti, and model Camilla Barungi.

Presented in association with The Innocence Project, The Exonerated is the dramatization of the real-life stories of six individuals who were sentenced to death and later freed amidst overwhelming evidence of their innocence.

The cast features Jim Bracchitta, Amelia Campbell, Bruce Kronenberg, Curtis McClarin, April Yvette Thompson, and JD Williams as well as rotating cast members Stockard Channing, Brian Dennehy, Steve Earle, John Forté, K’naan, Delroy Lindo, Lyle Lovett, Chris Sarandon, and Brooke Shields. In addition Jacobs, whose story is shared within the play, will join the cast September 25-30.
