They join the cast alongside Maya Rudolph, who will make her Broadway debut as Mary.

Cheyenne Jackson, Phillip James Brannon, and Bianca Leigh will return to the Broadway production of Cole Escola’s Oh, Mary! at the Lyceum Theatre starting April 28 for a limited run through June 20. All veterans of the show, they will rejoin the company alongside Maya Rudolph, who is set to make her Broadway debut in the title role.
Brannon will step into the role of “Mary’s Husband,” which he previously played last year. Jackson will play “Mary’s Teacher,” a role he occupied last fall. And Leigh will play “Mary’s Chaperone,” a role she originated off-Broadway and brought to Broadway with the original cast.
Original Broadway cast member Tony Macht will continue as “Mary’s Husband’s Assistant.” Hannah Solow, Martin Landry, and Julian Manjerico complete the company on Broadway.
Directed by Sam Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! is a historically dubious account of Mary Todd Lincoln’s White House ennui, and her quest to salvage her stage career at the height of the American civil war. It open to rave reviews off-Broadway in early 2024, before transferring to Broadway that summer. It was nominated for five Tony Awards, with Escola winning Best Actor for their performance as Mary, and Pinkleton winning for direction.
TheaterMania’s review calls it, “without a doubt, the funniest comedy on Broadway right now.”
Tickets are on sale through January 3, 2027.
