Charles Busch to Receive 2011 Innovative Theatre Luminary Award

The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, will present Charles Busch with the 2011 Innovative Theatre Luminary Award at the organization’s benefit CABARETION 2.0, to be held at Therapy’s upstairs lounge, on Monday, June 27 at 6pm. Julie Halston will present Busch with the award.

Busch is the author and star of such plays as The Divine Sister, The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, and The Third Story. His Broadway play The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife won the Outer Circle Critics’ John Gassner Award, and received a Tony nomination for Best Play. He is also the recipient of a 2003 special Drama Desk Award for career achievement.
