Casey Nicholaw has won his first choreography Tony Award for his work on the new musical Some Like It Hot

Nicholaw won a 2011 Tony Award for his direction of The Book of Mormon, and has been nominated for six previous choreography Tony Awards for Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Book of Mormon, Aladdin, Something Rotten!, and Mean Girls.

Now running at the Shubert Theatre, Some Like It Hot is based on the classic Billy Wilder film and tells the story of two musicians who witness a mob hit and decide to cross-dress to join an all-female band in order to hide. Christian Borle, J. Harrison Ghee, and Adrianna Hicks take on roles originated onscreen by Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and Marilyn Monroe.

The show has a score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and a book by Matthew López and Amber Ruffin.
