Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph a new stage musical version of the 1978 movie Animal House. No specific plans for a production have been announced.

The band Barenaked Ladies will provide the score for the show, which will have a libretto by Michael Mitick.

Animal House unfolds in the early 1960s and centers on a comedic battle of wills between a college administrator and the members of the raucous Delta Tau Chi Fraternity.

Nicholaw won a Tony Award for his direction of The Book of Mormon. In addition, he has directed choreographed The Drowsy Chaperone and Elf and choreographed Monty Python’s Spamalot on Broadway.
