Cake, Epstein, Huff, Pascal, Shannon, et al. Join Hartford Stage’s Brand: NEW Festival

Hartford Stage has announced casting for its Brand: NEW Festival of readings, November 6-11.

Joining previously announced performers Maureen Anderman, Kecia Lewis-Evans, and Kate Mulgrew will be such stars as Lia Aprile, Kate Arrington, Stephanie Berry, Allan Burrows, Jonathan Cake, Carolyn Clay, Alvin Epstein, Yetta Gottesman, Lynda Gravatt, Neal Huff, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Ryan King, Louisa Krause, Alfred Narciso, Howard Overshown, Pedro Pascal, Laila Robins, Thomas Jay Ryan, Nikolle Salter, Michael Shannon, and James Waterston.

The festival will include readings of Quiara Hudes’ Elliot: A Soldier’s Fugue, Christopher Shinn’s political drama Now or Later, Michael Elaynow’s The Children, Elizabeth Eggloff’s biodrama The Ether Dome, Daniel Beaty’s Breath and Imagination: The Story of Roland Hayes, Regina Taylor’s Rain, and Craig Wright’s Mistakes Were Made.

In addition, the festival will include 10/10/10, a group of 10 ten-minute plays by leading writers, including Edward Albee, Eve Ensler, Horton Foote, Eduardo Machado, Suzan-Lori Parks, and Theresa Rebeck.
