Bryonha Marie and Mamie Parris to Star in Sister Act at The Muny

The St. Louis theater announces the stars of its summer season finale.

The Muny has announced the stars of its summer production of Sister Act, running August 14-20. The closing production of the 2023 season will be directed and choreographed by Denis Jones, with associate choreographer Barry Busby and music direction by Sheilah V. Walker.

The cast will feature Bryonha Marie (Prince of Broadway) as Deloris Van Cartier, Mamie Parris (Cats) as Mother Superior, James T. Lane (Kiss Me, Kate) as Eddie Souther, Alan H. Green (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Curtis Jackson, Thom Sesma (Encores! Oliver!) as Monsignor O’Hara, Meredith Aleigha Wells (Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!) as Sister Mary Robert, Madeleine Doherty (Les Misérables) as Sister Mary Lazarus, Katy Geraghty (Into the Woods) as Sister Mary Patrick, Brandon Espinoza (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Pablo, F. Michael Haynie (Frozen North American Tour) as Joey, and Darron Hayes (The Gospel According to Heather) as TJ.

Based on the 1992 film, Sister Act is written by multi-Emmy Award winners Cheri and Bill Steinkellner (Cheers), with additional book material by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane, music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by Glenn Slater. The musical opened on Broadway in 2011, earning five Tony nominations including Best Musical.
