Broadway's Waitress to Revive Pink Uniforms for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The producers of Broadway's Waitress have announced, for the third year in a row, they will support the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC during Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a series of initiatives this October.
Among the initiatives is a revival of the pink uniforms, which were introduced last year, to replace the show's usual blue ones. The "Waitress Pie Challenge" will also return. Prizeo will run a campaign in which the winner gets a walk-on role in the show (detail will soon be available here). "Kick Cancer Cannoli Pies" and a Waitress ribbon pin will be sold at the show, and the Sofitel Hotel will offer a Waitress-themed cocktail and dessert. Proceeds from those sales will go to Susan G. Komen Greater NYC.
Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture, Waitress features music and lyrics by Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson, and direction by Diane Paulus. The production opened April 24, 2016, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, and earned four Tony nominations.
Waitress currently stars Nicolette Robinson (Jenna), Benny Elledge (Cal), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Becky), Adam Shapiro (Ogie), Drew Gehling (Dr. Pomatter), Katie Lowes (Dawn), Bill Nolte (Joe), Ben Thompson (Earl), Mariam Bedigan and London Skye Gilliam (Lulu), Tyrone Davis Jr., Matt DeAngelis, Law Terrell Dunford, Molly Hager, Jessie Hooker-Bailey, Anastacia McCleskey, Stephanie Torns, and Dan Tracy. Al Roker takes on the role of Joe beginning October 5.
