The Tennessee Williams drama, starring Cherry Jones and Zachary Quinto, is officially a hit.
John Tiffany's acclaimed Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, currently running through February 23 at the Booth Theatre, has recouped its initial $2.6 million investment, producers Jeffrey Richards, Jon N. Hart Jr., and Jerry Frankel have announced. This production of the drama originated at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and opened on Broadway September 26.
Two-time Tony Award winner Cherry Jones leads the company of The Glass Menagerie as domineering matriarch Amanda Wingfield. She is joined by Zachary Quinto as narrator Tom, Celia Keenan-Bolger as the painfully shy Laura, and Brian J. Smith as Jim, the Gentleman Caller. The creative team includes Bob Crowley (scenic and costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Clive Goodwin (sound design), Nico Muhly (original music), and Steven Hoggett (movement).
