Lila Neugebauer directs the production at Signature Theatre.
Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and the company of the world premiere of Everybody celebrated opening last night on Tuesday, February 21, at Signature Theatre. Lila Neugebauer helms the production, now in performance through March 17. Check out photos from the celebration in the gallery below.
A modern riff on the 15th-century morality play Everyman, the work follows Everybody as he or she travels down a road toward life's greatest mystery. At each performance, the role of Everybody will be played by a cast member chosen at random by lottery.
The cast includes Jocelyn Bioh (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Obie Award winner Brooke Bloom (Cloud Nine), Michael Braun (The Crucible), Obie Award winner Marylouise Burke (Ripcord), Louis Cancelmi (Blasted), Lilyana Tiare Cornell (Les Misérables), Obie Award winner David Patrick Kelly (Thérèse Raquin), Lakisha Michelle May (Boardwalk Empire), and Chris Perfetti (Cloud Nine).
The creative team includes Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Gabriel Berry (costume design), Matt Frey (lighting design), and Brandon Wolcott (sound design).
