The Long Island production at the John W. Engeman Theater will open this month.
Northport, New York's John W. Engeman Theater has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Christopher Durang's 2013 Tony-winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Performances will run from January 22-March 8.
Directed by Richard T. Dolce, the play offers a comic variation on Chekhovian themes. Vanya and his sister Sonia, who still live in their childhood home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, are visited by their glamorous movie-star sister, Masha, who returns home with her new beau-hunk, Spike. Their quotidian lives are subsequently thrown into disarray.
The cast will feature Mary Sean Youn (Blade Runner) as Masha, Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde) as Vanya, Laurie Dawn (Strictly Personal) as Sonia, Stephen Mark Lukas (The Book of Mormon) as Spike, Isabel Santiago (Giant) as Cassandra, and Megan Yelaney (Godspell) as Nina.
