Billy Elliot Announces Full Cast and Creative Team

Signature Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for its new production of Billy Elliot: The Musical, which will run October 30-January 6, 2019, in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre.

Liam Redford and Owen Tabaka will alternate in the title role. The rest of the cast will include Nancy Anderson (Sunset Boulevard), Jacob Thomas Anderson (Matilda the Musical national tour), Catherine Flye (Arena Stage's Oliver!), Chris Genebach (Olney Theatre Center's The Crucible), Dan Manning (Signature's Silver Belles), Grant Richards (National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's Fiddler on the Roof), Sean Watkinson (Signature's Miss Saigon), Eileen Ward (Olney's Mary Poppins), and Olivia McMahon (Olney's Annie) and Vivian Poe (Imagination Stage's Beauty and the Beast) alternating as Debbie Wilkerson.

The adult ensemble is rounded out by Kurt Boehm, Jamie Eacker, Sean Fri, Daniel S. Hines, Vincent Kempski, Solomon Parker III, Harrison Smith, Kedren Spencer, and Stephawn P. Stephens. Swings include Calvin Malone, Emily Madden, Jane Petkofsky, and Daniel Powers. The children's ensemble includes Franco Cabanas, Sofia A. Cruz, Annie Dodson, Declan Fennell, Malcolm Fuller, Anya Katherine Jones, Harrison MacInnis, Molly Rose Meredith, Dulcie Pham, Noelle Robinson, Sissy Sheridan, Simone Straub-Clark, Maya Stumpf, and Simone Warren.

The creative team includes Tom Vendafreddo (musical director), Mark Orsborn (Angry Dance tap choreographer), Kelly Crandall d'Amboise (associate choreographer), Jason Sherwood (scenic design), Amanda Zieve (lighting design), Kathleen Geldard (costume design), Ryan Hickey (sound design), Anne Nesmith (wig design), Rex Daugherty (assistant director, dialect coach), Casey Kaleba (fight choreography), and Dani Ebbin (assistant choreographer).

Based on the 2000 film of the same title, Billy Elliot: The Musical tells the story of a young boy from a working-class family who dreams of becoming a dancer. Set in a mining town in the north of England, the story is set against the background of the 1984-85 miners' strike. The production features music by Elton John and a book and lyrics by Lee Hall.
