Benjamin Scheuer's autobiographical solo show The Lion will return to the New York stage this winter, playing a run at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project beginning February 3. Officially opening on February 8, the production, directed by Sean Daniels, will run through March 29.

The Lion initially ran at Manhattan Theatre Club's The Studio at Stage II in June, after an award-winning run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The musical drama explores Scheuer's complicated relationship with his father, who died in the midst of an argument they were having, as well as his battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma in his late 20s.

The music video for the title song of The Lion, directed by Peter Baynton, premiered at the 2013 Annecy Film Festival in France, where it won the Special Jury Award for Best Commissioned Film. It also won Best Music Video and Best Animated Video at London's 2013 Crystal Palace International Film Festival. You can watch it by clicking here.

The creative team for the MTC run of The Lion included Neil Patel (scenic design), Jennifer Caprio (costume consultant), Ben Stanton (lighting design), and Leon Rothenberg (sound design).
