Beloved Annie Film Star Albert Finney Dies at 82

Finney received two Tony nominations and five Oscar nominations over the course of his career.

Beloved actor Albert Finney has died following a short illness. He was 82.

On Broadway, Finney received Tony nominations for his turns in Luther and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. He began his career at the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1950s, appearing in King Lear and A Midsummer Night's Dream, and was regularly seen on the West End in productions including Art and Orphans, for which he received an Olivier Award.

A winner of Golden Globe, Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild Awards and a five-time Oscar nominee, Finney's screen roles included The Dresser, Murder on the Orient Express, Scrooge, Miller's Crossing, Tom Jones, Erin Brockovich, Big Fish, and Annie, in which he played Daddy Warbucks. He recently appeared in the films Skyfall and The Bourne Legacy.
