Musical writing duo Carner and Gregor have announced an online casting contest to select eight college students to take part in their upcoming Barely Legal Showtune Extravaganza, to be held July 23 at 8pm at Le Poisson Rouge. The concert will be hosted by Broadway’s Andrew Kober. Marlo Hunter will direct with music direction by Derek Gregor.
In addition to making their New York concert debut, contest winners will also get the chance to work directly with Carner and Gregor. To enter, performers should videotape a performance of any Carner and Gregor song and send the video file to candgmusic@gmail.com.
Contestants will be judged by a panel of Broadway professionals including casting director Michael Cassara, actor Andrew Kober, conductor and music director Joel Fram, director/producer Brandon Ivie, and concert director Marlo Hunter.
