Renowned author Joan Didion will be the guest of a symposium at the Westport Country Playhouse on Sunday, June 17, just after the matinee performance of The Year of Magical Thinking, based on her book of the same name. The event will feature a conversation between Didion and Playhouse’s Associate Artistic Director David Kennedy as well as a book-signing.

Sponsored by the Judy Point Charitable Trust, The Year of Magical Thinking, featuring Maureen Anderman as Didion, is about the author’s actual experience rebuilding her life during the year after her spouse’s death and her capacity to emerge strengthened from even the most shattering of life’s trials. Nicholas Martin directs.

The Playhouse Sunday Symposium program is free and open to the public, offering guest speakers’ in-depth insights and observations about the production, followed by an interactive dialogue.
