August: Osage County to Launch National Tour in San Francisco in 2009

Tracy Letts’ drama, August: Osage County will launch a national tour at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre, August 11-September 6, 2009. Casting and additional engagements will be announced at a later date.

The show, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, concerns a missing patriarch and the reunion of the Weston clan who must deal with his disappearance in rural Oklahoma. It has won numerous awards this year including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Drama Desk Award, and it is nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play.

The design team includes Todd Rosenthal (sets), Ana Kuzmanic (costumes), Ann G. Wrightson (lights), Richard Woodbury (sound) and David Singer (original music).
