The Empyrean Club—the new Brooklyn-based cultural venue combining theater, nightlife, and dining with a social club—is scheduled to open in 2027 with the musical American Psycho.

Located at 421 Troutman Street in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, the 10,300-square-foot venue will have a total capacity of 590 guests, including a 299-seat mainstage theater.

Max Hunter, founding artistic director of the Bridge Production Group, leads the Empyrean Club’s theatrical creative and will direct American Psycho. Tony Award-winning producer Lucas Katler will oversee business and long-term strategy for the venue. Jesse Singer, founder of Neon Noir, will spearhead architecture, design, and experiential strategy.

American Psycho features a book written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the award-winning playwright and television creator of Riverdale, and music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, the Grammy- and Tony-winning composer of Spring Awakening. Choreography is by Baye & Asa, whose work has been presented at the Joyce Theater, the Guggenheim, the Martha Graham Dance Company, and more.

The design for the club is shaped by architect and theatrical set designer Seth Byrum, whose work includes theater design and renovation projects across New York, alongside Tony-Saba Shiber, founding partner of the Brooklyn-based, multidisciplinary design studio commoncraft. Interiors and material innovation are driven by Safwat Riad of SAFWAT BY SAFWAT. Christian Gideon (Lusso) serves as design consultant.

The culinary program is led by chef Ham El-Waylly and the cocktail and bar program is shaped by bartender, author, and consultant John deBary.
