Alia Shawkat to Lead Revival of Clare Barron's You Got Older

Alia Shawkat (Search Party) will star in a revival of Clare Barron’s play You Got Older, running February 12-March 29 at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Opening night is February 23.

Baron’s 2014 drama will be directed by Anne Kauffman, who staged the play off-Broadway for Page 73 in 2014. It tells the story of Mae (Shawkat), a recently single and unemployed lawyer who returns to her hometown to take care of her father while he undergoes cancer treatment.

Full casting for the production will be announced at a later date. Kauffman’s creative team includes Arnulfo Maldonado (sets), Ásta Bennie Hostetter (costumes), Isabella Byrd (lighting), and Daniel Kluger (sound).

Our critic called the original production of You Got Older “a quirky and sincerely touching family story.”
