Grammy Award-winner Wynton Marsalis joined the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars for a one-night-only cameo appearance in the Tony-nominated Broadway musical After Midnight. During his appearance, the trumpeter participated in a number featuring current Tony-nominated actress Adriane Lenox.

After Midnight, which is now playing at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, is inspired by Ellington and his years performing at the legendary Cotton Club. Conceived by Jack Viertel, the musical features direction and choreography by Warren Carlyle, musical direction by Wynton Marsalis, and musical supervision by Daryl Waters.
